Visiting Professor Position (English Language)

The Institute of Liberal Education (ILE) at Pusan National University (PNU) invites applications for non-tenure-track Visiting Professor positions in English Language.

1. Position Overview

- Number of openings: 4

- Start date: September 1, 2026

- Contract period: September 1, 2026 - August 31, 2027 (1 year, renewable)

2. Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

(1) Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher

(2) Be a citizen of one of the following native English-speaking countries:

     USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland

(3) Hold a valid Korean visa: E-2, F-4, F-5, F-6, F-2-7

(4) Have at least 4 years of qualified research or teaching experience*

5. Selection Process

-  Step 1: Document screening

-  Step 2: Interview (for shortlisted candidates only)

                * Demo lecture and personal interview (Total duration: up to 30 minutes)

                * Interview date: May 29, 2026 (Tentative)

6. Responsibilities

- Teach at least 12 credit hours per semester

   (additional compensation will be provided for overloads)

- May be required to teach during summer and winter sessions (additional compensation will be provided)

- Participate in ILE activities

7. Salary (before applicable taxes and other deductions)

- Bachelor’s degree: 2.3 million KRW/month (27.6 million KRW/year)

- Master’s degree: 2.4 million KRW/month (28.8 million KRW/year)

- Doctoral degree: 2.5 million KRW/month (30.0 million KRW/year)

8. Housing

- On-campus housing (if available)

   * Types: Sangnam International House (SIH), PNU Dormitory (condominium-style)

   * Rental fee: 660,000 KRW/month

   * PNU covers 560,000 KRW, the employee pays the remaining balance and utilities (including telephone, gas, electricity, TV, etc.)

-  Off-campus housing: PNU may provide a housing allowance within budget(up to 300,000 KRW/month)

9. Benefits

- Airfare

　* One-way economy ticket will be provided upon completion of the final contract

    * Must be used within 30 days after contract expiration

- Vacation

    * Minimum of 8 weeks paid vacation: 4 weeks in summer, 4 weeks in winter

    * Schedule will be coordinated with the ILE office to accommodate institutional needs

-  Insurance

    * Eligible for Employment Insurance under Korean law

    * Monthly premium deducted from salary

    * Enrollment is mandatory for F-5 and F-6 visa holders

10. Notice

- Additional documents may be required after hiring

- All original documents with Apostille must be submitted within one month of employment

- If any submitted documents are found to be falsified or fraudulent, the contract will be revoked and employment will be terminated immediately
